Teen found unconscious in vehicle in OPP headquarters lot facing charges

Police say they found the teen in his vehicle Saturday morning with several open alcohol containers in the vehicle

An Orillia teen was discovered, unconscious, in his vehicle in the parking lot of Central Region Headquarters Saturday morning, police say.

An Orillia teen is facing multiple charges including forgery and impaired driving after police found the man unconscious in a vehicle outside of the Ontario Provincial Police Central Region Headquarters over the weekend.

Around 11 a.m. Saturday, police were alerted to an unconscious person in a vehicle in the parking lot of the police facility on Hurtubise Drive, just off the Highway 12 bypass.

Upon finding the teen, officers investigated and ultimately arrested the individual.

As a result, Patrick McGinley has been charged with:

  • have care or control of motor vehicle with open container of liquor
  • driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
  • novice driver - B.A.C. above zero
  • young driver - B.A.C. above zero
  • operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • adult forgery

The accused is scheduled to appear in court to answer to the charges on Sept. 17, 2024.
