Police are investigating after a pedestrian was injured Monday in an apparent hit-and-run in Midland.

At about 3:40 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a collision on Wellington Street, where they found a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle. The victim was taken to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries.

The intersection of Wellington and Robert streets was closed for the investigation.

Police later located and seized a vehicle they believe was involved in the collision, Southern Georgian Bay OPP said in a news release.

“The investigation is ongoing, and charges have not been laid at this time,” police said.
