Provincial police are investigating after a shed fire last night on County Road 27, along the City of Barrie's western border with Essa Township.
On March 11, at 8:27 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP officers and Essa firefighters responded to a structure fire at 8294 County Rd. 27, near Muirfield Drive.
Upon arrival, police say officers observed a shed engulfed in flames behind a mobile trailer.
Police said the officers confirmed that everyone had exited, as well as any animals that were on the property.
Essa fire crews arrived shortly thereafter to combat the blaze, OPP stated in a release.
Police said the property owner was the only one on scene at the time and no injuries were reported.
The fire did not spread to the nearby residences and was quickly extinguished.
The cause of the fire appears to be a generator that was producing power for the mobile home at the time, according to the OPP.
The investigation is ongoing, but police say it is not considered suspicious.
The road near the home was temporarily closed until the fire was put out.
Police said the owner was residing in Springwater Township at the time, and this property was being utilized for storage and to work on a mobile home.
