Here’s what’s happening in Bradford and Innisfil on Saturday and Sunday:
Experience Africa in Bradford
As part of the Olundara Foundation’s African Experience Festival, Black-led pop-ups will be hosted Saturday, July 6 at the Bradford Farmers’ Market and the BWG library’s cafe area (425 Holland St. W.) starting at 9 and 11 a.m., respectively. Car show, drift exhibition rolls into Innisfil
The Sunset Showdown Car Show and Drift Exhibition is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Sunset Speedway (6918 Yonge St.). Get ready for a day of roaring engines and smoking tires, featuring a display of customized cars and classic rides. Spectator tickets can be purchased for $20 at the gate. Drag Queen storytime, Pride celebration
The Innisfil ideaLAB and Library’s Lakeshore branch (967 Innisfil Beach Rd.) will team up with Haus of Devereaux again Saturday for an incredible afternoon with drag queens Justine D'as and Queenie ZaDhal. This free family-friendly, inclusive event is filled with stories, songs and plenty of fun while exploring themes of diversity and acceptance. Storytime and a dance party parade run from 1 to 2 p.m., crafts and a meet-and-greet go from 2 to 3 p.m., Q&A with the Queens happens from 2:30 to 3 p.m., and game time is 3 to 4 p.m. Registration is required. Public skating hits the ice Bradford
The BWG Leisure Centre (471 West Park Ave.) will host all-ages public skating on Sunday, July 7 at 12:15 p.m. Everyone who participates in this leisure program should consider wearing a helmet and gloves while on the ice. Children nine years old or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, while food, drinks, skating aids, sticks, pucks, balls, sleds, chairs and strollers are not permitted.
