Over the weekend, Bradford barber shop Empire Fadez celebrated its grand re-opening in the downtown core.
The shop opened two years ago at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and never got to host its official ribbon-cutting ceremony, until now.
Empire Fadez isn't your typical barber shop. When you walk in, there are six matching red chairs surrounded by sports memorabilia on the walls and a large basketball hoop set up to take shots on while you wait your turn for a haircut.
In addition to haircuts, the shop offers beard and mustache trims, shaves and braids.
"Our reasons for success are a result of our great quality and customer service we provide," said owner Umair Malik. "Each chair has a stylist that caters to his own clientele."
Mayor Rob Keffer, Deputy Mayor James Leduc, members of council and the Bradford Board of Trade attended the ribbon-cutting event offering their good wishes along with a plaque and certificate of congratulations.
