How do you plan for the unexpected?

Emergencies often happen when families are not together. Suddenly you need to think about kids at school and elderly parents across town. What do you do if phones are down, or roads are closed?

If you have children, pets, relatives with special needs or anyone else that would need your help in the event of an emergency, there are guides available to help you plan your approach to an emergency situation. In just 20 minutes, you can prepare a plan online that will keep your whole family on the same page in the event of an emergency. Click here to make your plan.

WHERE DO I GET INFORMATION DURING AN EMERGENCY?

During emergencies, the Town of BWG posts information on Facebook, and shares it with local media including radio stations Rock 95 and 107.5 Kool FM. During a serious emergency in which extra support services are required (such as evacuation centres or water stations), the Town partners with the 2-1-1 telephone information service to answer calls.

At ANY time, residents can dial 2-1-1 to speak to a real person who can provide advice on community services available to you.
