Wife suffers apparent head injuries in domestic dispute

A 33-year-old Bradford man is charged with assault - choking after a teenager called police to report a domestic dispute. Police were dispatched to a home in Bradford around 11:30 p.m. on June 1, 2018.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the accused sitting in the garage and his 40-year-old wife inside the home with apparent head injuries.

She was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The husband was arrested at the scene and transported to South Division. Police seized a rifle and ammunition.

He was released to a relative on a promise to appear in court and undertaking.

South Simcoe Police Service believes everyone should feel safe in their own home. We take all reports of domestic violence very seriously and will work with our community partners to ensure victims and their loved ones find safe refuge.
