Two charged after more than $4K in goods stolen from Bradford store

Police say Scarborough residents stole printer cartridges, electric dog callers, headlights and more

Two Scarborough residents have been charged after allegedly shoplifting from a Bradford business Thursday.

At about 11:30 a.m., South Simcoe police were called to a theft in progress at a retail store. Police were told two people had entered the store, selected merchandise and left without paying. The suspects were arrested after they attempted to drive away.

Police recovered stolen property including printer cartridges, electric dog collars, pharmaceutical products, headlights and water filters. The total value of the stolen goods was more than $4,000.

A 31-year-old woman was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen goods under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000. A 31-year-old man was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
