York Regional Police have charged two people and seized a quantity of drugs in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in the City of Vaughan.
An investigation began at the end of 2020 into suspected drug dealers who were operating in Vaughan. Through the investigation, officers identified the suspects and determined it was a mother and son working together selling crack cocaine and fentanyl.
On Feb. 24, 2021, the suspects were arrested. Search warrants were executed at locations in Vaughan and Schomberg, where investigators located approximately $15,000 in cash, a money counter, approximately seven ounces of fentanyl and 1.6 ounces of crack cocaine, with a combined street value of more than $20,000.

- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA X2 (fentanyl and crack cocaine)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance CDSA
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000
Charged: Mary Ann James, 64, of Schomberg
Charges:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA X2 (fentanyl and crack cocaine)
- Trafficking Fentanyl CDSA
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000
