A large police presence closed off an entrance to Scanlon Creek Conservation Area Thursday morning.

Several South Simcoe Police Service vehicles were spotted around the site, which is operated by the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) and located in the northeast section of Bradford West Gwillimbury, March 20.

However, the department is releasing few details on what it says is an ongoing incident.

โ€œSouth Simcoe Police responded to a call and is currently investigating,โ€ spokesperson Samah Othman said in an email. โ€œThis is an active investigation, and time is required to conduct due diligence. No further information is available or will be provided at this time.โ€

LSRCA spokesperson Sinem Connor confirmed the Yonge Street entrance to Scanlon Creek was blocked off, but has since reopened.

โ€œWe have just been advised that the police investigation around Scanlon Creek Conservation Area is now complete,โ€ Connor said in an email shortly after noon on Thursday.

BradfordToday and InnisfilToday will provide more details as they are released.
