A downtown Barrie shooting last night has left one one man injured.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, police were called to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) after a 21-year-old man arrived with non-life-threatening injuries from an apparent gunshot wound, according to police.
Police said they received information the assault occurred at a residence in the area of Toronto Street and Dunlop Street West.
In that neighbourhood, a house was taped off, and police officers and detectives could be seen searching the property for evidence, along with a dog sniffing around the immediate area.
Police said the investigation into this occurrence is ongoing, but they do not believe there is any risk to public safety.
