The Nottawasaga OPP say they have laid charges in connection with a report of a suspicious person earlier this week in Alliston.
On Monday at around 11:15 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence on Albert Street East following a report of an individual seen outside with a weapon after an interaction with the residents.
Police say a 39-year-old male of no fixed address has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon.
The weapon was seized and the accused was released on an undertaking, police said in a news release. He is scheduled to appear on May 30 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford.
Police said there is no threat to public safety.
Police said this incident has no connection to a previous report of a man armed with a knife in downtown Alliston on Tuesday.
