OPP investigating overnight break-in at area church

Investigators are urging anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the stolen items to come forward.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are asking for the public’s help following a break and enter and theft at St. Mary’s Church in Victoria Harbour.

On Monday, police were contacted by a church staff member who reported that the building, located at 266 Albert St., had been broken into overnight. The suspects allegedly smashed a window to gain access and stole $1,500 worth of grocery gift cards.

The stolen gift cards are valued at $30 and $60 each and can be used at Foodland and No Frills stores, according to police.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the stolen items to come forward.
