On Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 11:25 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer was conducting speed enforcement on Holland Street West in Bradford.
The officer observed a vehicle travelling westbound at a high rate of speed passing several vehicles. A speed measurement was obtained of 104 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver who was the lone occupant. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to South Division.
As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Bradley Cathcart of Jackson's Point was charged with the following offences:
• Dangerous operation
• Operation while impaired
• Operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol
• Stunt driving
• Speeding
• Drive while under suspension
• Drive motor vehicle without ignition interlock device
• Novice driver - BAC above zero
• Fail to have insurance card
His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released with a future court date.
