Erratic driving results in impaired charge for Innisfil man

A 51-year-old Innisfil man was charged with impaired and dangerous driving following a traffic stop early this morning in Innisfil.

On Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, around 1:30 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed a vehicle driving erratically southbound on Yonge Street from Innisfil Beach Road before turning east on the 7th Line. A vehicle stop was conducted and an odour of alcohol was detected.  

The driver was arrested and transported to South Division. Breath tests resulted in readings of approximately twice the legal limit. A 51-year-old Innisfil man was charged with impaired driving, over 80 and dangerous operation.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
