Bradford, Brampton and Innisfil drivers charged in unrelated incidents

Charges include refusal to comply with demand, careless driving, speeding and more; incidents happened on local roadways between July 6 and 8, South Simcoe police say

INNISFIL - On Sunday, July 7, 2024 at approximately 5 p.m., officers responded to a radio call regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of Maple Road and St. Johns Road in the Town of Innisfil.

Officers located the vehicle parked outside of a nearby restaurant. The driver was located inside the restaurant with clear signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for impaired operation. The driver refused several times to provide a sample of his breath and was subsequently charged.

As a result of an investigation, a 41-year-old Brampton man was charged with adult operation while prohibited and failure or refusal to comply with demand.

INNISFIL - On Saturday, July 6, 2024 at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of 9th Line and 25th Sideroad in the Town of Innisfil for a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision.

Police determined that a white Honda Civic was travelling eastbound on 9th Line and collided with a grey Honda Civic that was travelling southbound on 25th Sideroad. All occupants were assessed by paramedics and cleared at the scene.

As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old Innisfil man was charged with careless driving and was given a court date in September.

BRADFORD - On Monday, July 8, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m., South Simcoe Police officers were conducting speed enforcement on County Road 27 south of 2nd Line in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Officers observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed (123 km/h) in a posted 80 km/h zone and initiated a traffic stop.

As a result of an investigation, a 31-year-old Bradford man was charged with driving while under suspension, speeding, and entire plate not plainly visible.
