35-year-old Innisfil man charged with impaired driving

The suspect was charged after several citizens called police regarding a vehicle driving erratically

INNISFIL – An Innisfil man was charged with impaired driving after South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to reports that a vehicle was driving erratically in a wooded area.

On Friday, May 15, 2020, around 12:30 a.m., several citizens called police regarding a vehicle driving erratically in a wooded area near train tracks at the 5th Line in Innisfil. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Killarney Beach Road west of the 20th Sideroad. The driver was arrested after a fail was registered on a roadside screening device test. He was transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings over the legal limit.  

Thirty-five-year-old  Brock Buckingham of Innisfil was charged with: 

  • Operation while impaired,
  • Over 80,
  • Fail to surrender licence; and
  • Unlawfully drive off-road vehicle on highway 

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
