31-year-old Alliston man arrested for drug trafficking

TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH – Members of the Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.  

On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, officers arrested an Alliston resident after an investigation related to drug trafficking. A subsequent search warrant was executed at a residence in Alliston, during which a quantity of cash, drugs and a weapon were seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old male has been charged with the following:  

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to s.354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC)  
  • Fail to Comply with probation order, contrary to s.733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to s.88 of the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking- Cocaine, contrary to s.5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on June 11, 2020 to answer to the charges.
