The 2024 Canadian International Trapshooting National Championships will be held from Aug. 14 to 18 at the prestigious Toronto Sport Shooting Centre in Cookstown, Ont.

This highly anticipated event will showcase top talent, drawing competitors from across Canada and the United States.

The competition promises to bring together the best trap shooters in Canada for an exhilarating four days of sport.

The event is hosted by Ontario Olympic Trapshooting Association.

“The Toronto Sport Shooting Centre is thrilled to host this event,” said Brett Nattrass, match director. “The growing international participation underscores the rising global interest in the sport, and we believe it will contribute significantly to its growth in Canada. With the club’s rich history, including hosting the Pan Am Games in 2015, we are confident this will be a fantastic competition.”

Jasmine Northcott, CEO of the Shooting Federation of Canada, added, “This is an incredible opportunity to witness the best trap shooting athletes from Canada and around the world. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the officials, volunteers, and the Toronto Sport Shooting Centre for their commitment to hosting the Canadian International Trapshooting National Championships.”

Among the distinguished attendees will be Susan Nattrass, one of Canada’s most celebrated trap shooters. Susan made history at the 1976 Montreal Olympics as the first woman to compete in an Olympic trap shooting event. With an illustrious career that includes participation in six Olympic Games and a notable sixth-place finish at the 2004 Athens Olympics, Susan’s legacy was further honoured when she served as the flag bearer at the 2007 Pan Am Games Opening Ceremony in Rio.

The 2024 Canadian International Trapshooting National Championships promise to be an unforgettable event, celebrating the skill, dedication, and sportsmanship of athletes from Canada and beyond.
