Teetering over the edge of a 75-metre ramp, the only thing keeping me from falling to my death are a couple vinyl belts.
I am strapped into the Yukon Striker, the new roller-coaster at Canada’s Wonderland — the longest, tallest, and fastest dive coaster in the world.
Media from around Ontario were invited to the amusement park this week to take a ride on the world-record-breaking ride, which can get up to speeds of 130 km/h.
As BradfordToday’s editor, who is not a fan of heights, I signed up for the experience and brought along our freelance writer Natasha Philpott.
We also used a GoPro camera to capture every terrified scream and hysterical laugh, as our roller-coaster car paused for three seconds at the edge of the first 90-degree drop before racing down, through an underwater tunnel, spiralling around a 360-degree loop (the only dive coaster in the world to have one), and zipping through 1,105 metres of metal track.
