Legion serves up Thanksgiving dinner at its Friday Night Social

A capacity crowd came out for turkey with all the fixings...

The Bradford Legion’s Friday Night Socials –  $12 dinners, followed every second Friday by an evening of karaoke have become increasingly popular, as COVID restrictions have eased, and more and more people are fully vaccinated.

On Friday, the Social had another reason for its increased popularity: the Legion was offering a full turkey dinner – a Thanksgiving special that included roast turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots, roll, and pie with ice cream for dessert, for the same bargain price.

The meal was a sell-out, with 50 fully-vaccinated Legion members, guests and visitors choosing to come out for a dinner, served up with “warm smiles and camaraderie.”

The Friday Night Socials are not the only events and activities to return to the Legion this fall.

Dart Leagues will be starting up in October – the Thursday Night Dart League on Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. sharp, and the Monday Night League on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. Darts players are advised to come out early to register – and will be asked to follow all provincial and regional COVID-19 health regulations and protocols. And anyone who enjoys a Down East Jiggs Dinner should circle Saturday, November 20 on the calendar. The Bradford Legion will be hosting a Jiggs Dinner and Dance, with music from Caribou Country, Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are only $25 each; space is limited.
