Get ready to rev your engines and join us for the inaugural Open Air Dunlop Classic Car Show, in partnership with the Barrie Thunder Classics, set to take place on Saturday, July 27 from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Hosted in the heart of downtown Barrie, this exciting event promises a full day of automotive excitement and entertainment for enthusiasts of all ages.

Barrie Thunder Classics Car Club — 10 a.m., running all day

Working in partnership with the Downtown Barrie BIA, the Barrie Thunder Classics Car Club will bring together 500-plus classic models to modern-era exotics. The car show will feature a dazzling display of all makes and models, showcasing the rich diversity of automotive history. Whether you’re a fan of vintage classics or sleek contemporary designs, there’s something for everyone to admire.

Truck pull kick-off: Barrie’s own World’s Strongest Man,Mitchell Hooper — 10 a.m.

Kicking off the festivities, witness the incredible strength of Barrie’s own World’s Strongest Man, Mitchell Hooper, as he attempts to pull the Flying Monkeys Brewery delivery truck alongside esteemed guests including the mayor, police chief, MPs, and MPPs.

40th anniversary of The Tragically Hip — 7 p.m. in Meridian Place.

As the sun sets, the celebration continues with a special 40th-anniversary tribute to The Tragically Hip at 7 p.m. in Meridian Place. Performed by the renowned cover band From The Hip, get ready to sing along to iconic hits and honour the legacy of one of Canada’s most beloved bands.

Transforming Dunlop Street into a pedestrian-only streetscape, this event offers a unique opportunity to explore downtown Barrie while immersing yourself in the excitement of the automotive world.

Steve Ricalis, owner of Donaleigh’s and Dunlop Diner, vice-chair of the Downtown Barrie BIA, and a passionate car enthusiast, shares his excitement: “Having hundreds of cars on display for the community to enjoy in downtown Barrie is a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together from all walks of life to celebrate our shared love for automobiles. As a fan of The Tragically Hip myself, I know the evening concert is going to be nothing short of fantastic.”
