IN PHOTOS: Innisfil Farmers' Market back in bloom for 14th season

The summertime staple opened in the parking lot outside the Stroud Innisfil Community Centre on June 6

You could smell the cut flowers, baked goods and freshly made food from across the parking lot Thursday afternoon.

It was a sure signal one of Innisfil’s favourite summertime staples had returned for a 14th year.

The Innisfil Farmers’ Market opened in the parking lot outside the Stroud Innisfil Community Centre (7883 Yonge St.) on June 6.

“(We) put in a lot of hours to get this going,” market chair Rob Radcliffe said. “This market does not succeed without our local residents. They are the biggest part of why it succeeds.”

The market was founded as a town initiative in 2011.

“I cannot tell you the excitement of the residents of the town waiting for this to happen,” Mayor Lynn Dollin said. “We so look forward to being here, celebrating the community, celebrating local.”

Vendors will offer a variety of goods, including fresh produce, meat, plants and honey, from 1 to 6 p.m. every Thursday until Oct. 10.
