Find that next treasure at either Cookstown Wing Ding or Innisfil’s Biggest Garage Sale this weekend.

It’s setting up to be another gorgeous weekend in Bradford and Innisfil.

With sunshine and warm temperatures in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, both municipalities have events that should help encourage you to get out into that nice weather — whether it’s yard sales or hiking piquing your interest. Here’s what’s happening in South Simcoe over the next few days:

Town-wide garage sale returns

The fourth annual Innisfil’s Biggest Garage Sale runs Saturday June 1 and Sunday June 2 in support of the Innisfil Food Bank. Organizers are raising funds by asking participants for a minimum donation of $10 each. The addresses of participants will be added to the event’s Google Map. Join the sale's Facebook page for more information, including details on how to sign up as a seller.

Have a Wing Ding of a time

Bargain hunters rejoice as the 41st Cookstown Wing Ding arrives Saturday. This year’s event will bring together the traditional, village-wide yard and craft sales the event has become known for with food trucks, children's activities and live music placed at spots throughout the main core. More than 50 participating businesses and vendors will also offer deals. Wing Ding runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, email [email protected]. Maps and a full list of participants can be found at cookstownchamber.ca/wingding.html.

Bradford mayor hikes for health

To celebrate International Trails Day, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is hosting its 21st annual Mayor's Hike for Health at Scanlon Creek Conservation Area (2450 9th Line). The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It includes a guided walk with Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority staff, outdoor family fitness activities, music by Russ Clayton, busker entertainment by Darren Bedford, barbecue lunch and snacks. Activities and parking are free.

Hooray for Holi

The Hindu festival of Holi Rangotsav will be celebrated in the parking lot of the Stroud Innisfil Community Centre Arena (7883 Yonge St.), Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be a disc jockey, live music and kids zone, as well as food and craft vendors and traditional and modern dance. Ticket prices include access to unlimited dry colours called Gulaal, which will be tossed in celebration at the event. Admission is $10 for children under 12 and $15 for anyone older than that. Tickets are available on zeffy.com

Film finally screening

Two free public showings of the controversial film “200 Meters” will be held at the Bradford library (425 Holland St. W.) on Sunday at 1:15 and 3:15 p.m. This event is co-sponsored by the Centre for Free Expression, a non-partisan organization that works in collaboration with academic and civil society organizations across Canada and internationally. The screenings happen in the Zima Room.
