‘Enjoy this space’: Innisfil Town Square, splash pad reopen

Innisfil Beach Road site had been closed for reconstruction work since May 6

Innisfil Town Square has reopened a few days ahead of schedule following several weeks of reconstruction work.

Give it credit. The Town of Innisfil knows how to make a proper splash.

The municipality reopened Innisfil Town Square (971 Innisfil Beach Rd.) — which had been closed for concrete remediation and other reconstruction work since May 6 — earlier this week, a few days ahead of schedule. And along with that comes the reopening of the popular splash pad, just in time for a sunny and warm weekend forecast.

“The remediation work … is now complete and the space has been reopened, including the splash pad,” capital project manager Meredith Goodwin said. “We encourage everyone to enjoy this space and the many activities that will occur over the coming months.”

Repairs were done by the contractor while the park is still under warranty, the town says.

“Innisfil’s Town Square has quickly become a valuable asset and meeting place for residents who enjoy this space for skating in the winter, a playground and splash pad for children, and a venue for live entertainment,” Goodwin said earlier this month. “We want to ensure this space is well-maintained and available year-round for all to enjoy.”

Town Square first officially opened in January 2023. It features the splash pad, as well as a playground, skating trail and stage, along with seated warming areas, washrooms and lockers.

The municipality also operates a splash pad at the Cookstown Community Park (20 Church St.). Subject to weather, both facilities will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily into September.
