As 2024 comes to a close, the Bradford Board of Trade reflects on a transformative and impactful year.
From hosting vibrant events to supporting our community in new ways, it has been a year filled with innovation, collaboration and growth. Here’s a look at some of the highlights that shaped 2024.
Signature events that brought us together
This year, our hallmark events once again shone brightly, bringing businesses and community members together:
- Recon Forum: This event focused on connecting businesses with the resources they need to thrive. From grants and funding opportunities to mentorship programs and expert advice on the real estate market trends and the impact on local businesses, attendees gained valuable insights and actionable tools to support their growth and success.
- Open for Business Golf Tournament: Our annual golf tournament was a tremendous success. After having to reschedule due to rain, we ended up with beautiful weather, fantastic participation, and an excellent opportunity for networking.
- Fall in Love with Bradford: This autumn celebration highlighted the charm and diversity of our local businesses. From unique promotions to interactive activities, the event encouraged everyone to shop and explore locally.
- Member Appreciation BBQ: After a brief hiatus, the much-loved barbecue made its return this year as a way for the Bradford Board of Trade to thank its members.
- Business Excellence Award Gala: A night to remember, our annual awards gala celebrated the achievements of the business community with elegance and camaraderie.
A new chapter: saying goodbye to the home show
In a bold move, we decided to retire the Bradford Home and Lifestyle Show this year, opting instead to focus on events that better align with our evolving goals and the needs of our community. This strategic shift has allowed us to dedicate resources to more targeted and impactful initiatives.
Strengthening community support
This year, the Bradford Board of Trade deepened its community involvement through meaningful initiatives, including ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new businesses, participation in Remembrance Day ceremonies, and collecting donations for the Bradford Helping Hand Food Bank at our events. These efforts reflect our dedication to supporting both local businesses and the broader Bradford community.
Welcoming fresh perspectives
Also, 2024 brought changes to our board of trade leadership, introducing new faces and fresh ideas. These dynamic leaders bring energy and innovation, ensuring the board of trade remains a forward-thinking organization at the forefront of business and community growth.
