The South Simcoe Police Service partnered with CTV Barrie for a Weekend of Giving.
The 19th annual campaign to support Toy Mountain, Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions and local food banks took place on Saturday, Dec. 9 in Bradford West Gwillimbury at the Canadian Tire store on Holland Street West.
Community members and groups dropped off new and unwrapped toys, along with nonperishable food items and gift cards to help make a difference to those in need this holiday season.
"We are grateful to serve in such caring, generous communities," said Chief John Van Dyke in a news release. "Every year, we work together to brighten the Christmas season for those in need."
"Every donation matters and we are always inspired by your commitment to help us help others."
A toy and food drive also took place in Innisfil on Friday, Dec. 8.
