Friends and family gathered in the party room at the apartments at 100 Miller Park Ave. early Saturday afternoon to celebrate the 90th birthday of resident, Gloria Turner.
Turner, who officially turns 90 on Nov.22 was pleasantly surprised when she was brought down to the room full of guests, treats and decorations.
Her best friend, Phyllis (she did not wish to provide her last name) along with her daughter Donna Boychuk had been planning the event for months.
"It's hard to keep a secret from her," laughed Boychuk.
Mayor Rob Keffer stopped by to give his well wishes and present Turner with a certificate of congratulations on behalf of council on her milestone birthday.
"Ninetieth birthday, that's a very special day," said Keffer.
Turner has lived in Bradford since 2005. She was born in Manitoba and has lived all over the country, from Edmonton to Toronto.
"Thank you everyone, I appreciate it," she said.
Turner was joined by many friends and family members, including Boychuk, two grand daughters Kelly and Diane, and great-grandson, Chase.
