I am a retired 66 year old woman. I moved up to Bradford a few years ago to be closer to my elderly mother so I could help her out. I drive her to her appointments and take her shopping, etc. I live in the same senior apartment complex that she lives in. I have noticed that the seniors living in these two particular buildings who are much younger than my mom are aging and dying off at a faster rate than they ought to.

This is why I truly believe in senior fitness now more than ever. I realize my mother's generation lived differently than I do. However, I think there should be more importance on senior fitness than there currently is.

I am a member of the BWG Leisure Centre here in Bradford. I attend Zumba and Bollywood classes. I also play pickleball. I intend to continue being active into my seventies and eighties if I am able. I'm not saying seniors have to exercise at this level but surely there must be a way for them to get started.

How do we get the word out there that fitness at any level is good for everyone at all ages?
