Regarding Mr. Moore’s defence of Bradford West Gwillimbury Mayor James Leduc, I found it interesting that I received three private messages that were, quite literally, identical to his letter. This seemingly coordinated response prompted me to re-read my original letter, and upon reflection, I must issue a correction.

I completely agree — Mayor Leduc should engage with the sitting premier, regardless of party. Advocacy for our town at the provincial level is essential. However, that was never the issue, and I was not clear. The concern is not that he associates with Premier Doug Ford; it’s that he was pictured front and centre, drink in hand, celebrating Candidate Ford’s victory like a campaign loyalist, not a neutral municipal leader.

It’s a subtle but important distinction.
