This week, registered Liberal Party of Canada members will be choosing our next prime minister using ranked ballots.

This is how all our political parties select their leaders.

Would it be too much to ask the next prime minister to grant us the same courtesy in the next general election?

Ranked ballots would be an improvement over the first-past-the-post system we are currently saddled with, and it might improve voter turnout if people believed their vote actually mattered.
