My name is Peter Dykie Jr. Many of you will recognize me as Bradford West Gwillimbury’s (BWG) Ward 7 councillor and a life-long resident of BWG.
I am running for re-election of Ward 7 and look forward to a great campaign.
As a local business owner of Bradford Jewellery, many of you have taken the time over my elected years to visit me at my store to discuss various issues. I have always taken great pride in my open-door policy and I encourage anyone who has questions or concerns to meet with me at my store.
I am always accessible and dedicated to being the continued voice for Ward 7.
Over the last term, our council has produced many accomplishments, including: senior housing, Highway 400 Employment Lands, Henderson Memorial Park, Marshview Boulevard, upgrading of mature neighbourhood parks and roads.
I am proud to announce that in Ward 7: Maurino Court, Valleyview Crescent, Maplegrove Avenue, and Collings Avenue are under road construction. After a long-fought term, this project is now a reality. Also, in fall 2018, Luxury Park is receiving new playground equipment.
To ensure the safety of Ward 7 residents, adequate fire and police services, and traffic-calming measures on major roadways should be maintained. I am an advocate of the Highway 400-404 Connecting Link to reduce the concerning traffic congestion in Bradford.
Furthermore, to aid our residential taxes and provide local job opportunities for residents of BWG, the Highway 400 Employment Lands are a great new addition to our community.
Despite the rapid growth of Bradford, I am a strong advocate in preserving our community heritage. The Community Improvement Program (CIP) is continuing to improve the downtown core.
With my extensive knowledge and experience in council, I wish to continue being your strong voice for Ward 7 on council.
