Since 2010, Raj Sandhu has been proudly serving as Ward 1 councillor for Bradford West Gwillimbury.
Raj and his family moved to Bradford in 1989, recognizing and appreciating it as a great town to live in and raise a family. Raj and his wife, Rana, have three children, who they proudly raised in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
He works as a supervisor at Cam-Slide Manufacturing, a division of Magna International, a place where he has worked and held several roles since 1994. At Cam-Slide Manufacturing and in his role as Ward 1 councillor, Raj believes in the value of hard work, customer service, perseverance, and teamwork as a means to success.
Since moving to BWG, he has spent countless hours volunteering for various community agencies and initiatives. Raj was vice president of Nottawasaga Futures, a local community economic development organization; is currently a member of the Bradford Lions Club, which conducts community initiatives; and the founder of the BWG Diversity Action Group, winner of this year’s organization of the year in Bradford West Gwillimbury. He has also assisted GNCF with various initiatives, including fundraising for a hospital.
Raj believes the greatest priority for a councillor is to serve and support residents. Humbled by the experience of serving Ward 1 since 2010, Raj can stand on his record and takes pride in always returning phone calls, emails and visits from residents. He has listened, taken concerns and suggestions seriously throughout his entire term.
A lot has been accomplished since taking office, but there’s more to do. If you would like to receive more information about Raj, visit his website sandhuraj.com, follow him on Twitter @rajsandhu4bwg, or give him a call at 289-980-0140.
