Bradford is at an important crossroads. In an era of exceptional growth, its demographics and philosophies are changing. We must determine whether to speed or slow the town’s growth, to embrace our connection to surrounding areas or fortify ourselves, and to prioritize industry, the environment or a balance of the two.
In such a time, it is critical that the people of Bradford truly be represented as town council make these decisions. Iftikhar Ahmad wants to be that voice.
A tireless worker, Iftikhar Ahmad has always been defined by that ethic. Whether earning his master’s degree, working with the United Nations, starting and driving his real-estate business to success, or building his community here in Bradford, Ahmad has applied a strong work ethic and leadership skills in cultivating success.
Now, Iftikhar Ahmad is applying his work ethic in listening to the people of Bradford. He feels council’s role is to serve the individuals who comprise the town, as well as the town itself. That means listening to the people of Bradford — regardless of age, gender or ethnicity — and determining what will benefit the greatest majority, with no one left behind.
Amongst his further agenda items:
- Improving Bradford’s transportation issues — gridlock and the GO Transit station parking crisis amongst them — is critical.
- The creation of more Bradford jobs and careers for Bradford citizens.
- Stopping the rise of property taxes.
- Improving town services, like garbage collection and snow removal.
Iftikhar Ahmad wants to work for those ends and for you — to be your voice on the town council in a time of change. Now is the time for a new voice that will represent the people of Bradford and will make decisions for the town with them in mind.
