FASD Awareness Day | September 9

On September 9th each year, the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) recognizes International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Awareness Day as a reminder that that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption during pregnancy.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month | September

September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Approximately 10,000 children are living with cancer in Canada today. Each year about 1,500 cases are diagnosed. September is a time to reflect on how we can better understand and address the needs of children and families affected by cancer.

Join us for a flag raising ceremony on Tuesday, September 10 at 4:00 pm (outside) at the BWG Leisure at 471 West Park Avenue

Mexican Independence Day | September 16
Each year on September 16, individuals of Mexican ancestry from throughout the world gather to reflect upon the heroic endeavors of those who gallantly fought for their nation’s independence.

Join us for a flag raising ceremony on Wednesday, September 14 at 3:30 pm (outside) at the Court House Courtyard at 57 Holland Street East.
