If you receive help from someone to clear snow from your driveway and/or private walkways, we can help you say thank you through the Snow Angels program!
WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS:
- A way to encourage people to help out their neighbours, and say thanks to those who do!
- High school students … providing assistance such as snow shoveling to people in need of help can be counted towards your community involvement hours (as long as the work is unpaid). Ask your school how to properly accredit it.
WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS NOT:
- This is not a program to match volunteers with residents in need – the Town of BWG does not offer that service. However there is a new nation-wide matching service that you are welcome to try out, just go to snowangelscanada.ca. The Town is not affiliated with this service and cannot vouch for it, but we are interested in hearing your experience if you try it!
- Alternatively, anyone interested in providing assistance is encouraged to offer it directly to your neighbours where they see a need. Drop a note at the door to let them know you’re willing to help, or knock and meet your neighbours (just remember to step back from the door or wear a mask to ensure safety).
