As COVID-19 guidelines from the province and the Health Unit relax, our policies and procedures are changing to allow you the best experience while still ensuring your safety.
Here’s an overview of what is and isn’t changing at the Bradford Lions Aquatic Centre of the BWG Leisure Centre.
ALL AQUATIC PROGRAMS
What’s changing:
- Patrons are no longer required to preregister for public swims
- Change rooms are once again gendered (male, female, co-ed) and free-flow (in/out)
- Lockers are open and available for use – wipes provided to clean your own locker
- Advantage change rooms are no longer in use for any aquatic activities
- Deep clean in the afternoon and in the evening
- Showers are open and soap is available
What’s not changing:
- Proof of vaccine and ID still required at the entrance doors
- Vaccine requirements for staff and patrons
- Face masks required
- Slide, water fountain, steam rooms and general lost and found are closed
- Equipment still limited and requires sanitation
- Surface cleaning throughout the day
AQUAFIT
What’s changing:
- Aquafit participants are capped at 20
- Pool is open with ropes across the middle of the pool and the drop off area (no pods/lanes)
What’s not changing:
- Aquafit participation is still preregistered
PUBLIC SWIMS
What’s changing:
- Patrons will pay and receive a wristband at customer service
- Lane and capacity restrictions are lifted
What’s not changing:
- Admission policy and pool capacities must still be obeyed
SWIM LESSONS
What’s changing:
- Parent participation in lessons is optional for Sunfish, Crocodile, Whale and Swim Kids 2-4
- Instructors will teach in the water and use equipment as needed for participant support
What’s not changing:
- Instructors will limit contact with participants and maintain physical distancing wherever possible; masks/face shields are still required while teaching
- Parents are still required for Starfish, Duck, Sea Turtle, Sea Otter, Salamander and Swim Kids 1
- Participants will still meet in designated coloured meeting spots
