International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day event to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, as well as raise awareness about gender equality and to advocate for women’s rights and empowerment. The day is often marked with marches, conferences, art exhibitions, fundraisers, and more. How will you celebrate this year?
The theme for IWD 2025 is Accelerate Action, highlighting the urgent need to speed up efforts to break down the systemic barriers and biases that continue to hold back women’s equality. It’s an opportunity to accelerate progress and remove the obstacles that limit women from reaching their full potential. Accelerate Action is a global call to recognize and amplify strategies, resources, and efforts that drive women's advancement, and to foster their widespread implementation.Although significant barriers to gender equality still exist, meaningful progress is possible with the right actions and support for women around the world.
