Suspect snags nearly $50 in tips from Subway sandwich shop, police say

A suspect allegedly took nearly $50 in tips from a Subway location in Alliston on Dec. 22, OPP says.

The Grinch appears to have made an appearance at an Alliston fast-food joint Dec. 22.

Nottawasaga OPP responded to a report of a theft at the Subway sandwich shop, located at 36 Young St., shortly before 5:30 p.m. that day. 

A man was allegedly observed stealing about $50 in tip money from the location. 

Police say the suspect was caught on video, pacing back and forth at the front counter, before grabbing a plastic box full of tip money and exiting the building.

He is described as being five-feet, 10-inches tall, and wearing a black jacket, black pants and white shoes. A red bandana hung out of the pocket on the right side of his pants.

“As part of the investigation, officers are requesting the public's assistance to identify this individual,” the OPP said in a Dec. 30 social-media post
