Southbound Hwy. 400 reopens through Bradford following crash

Incident happened near County Road 88 late Tuesday morning; police say elderly man had a medical issue that led to the crash

OPP officers have cleared the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 400 through Bradford.

The department’s GTA Traffic account on X, the social-media platform formerly known as Twitter, posted all southbound 400 lanes were closed at County Road 88 late Tuesday morning due to a collision.

This stretch of highway has since reopened.

Local firefighters and County of Simcoe paramedics also attended the scene.

It is believed the crash occurred due to a medical issue involving one of the drivers. The motorist who suffered the issue, described by police as being an "elderly man," was taken to hospital without vital signs. He has been pronounced dead.

“The one driver went through a medical (incident), which caused the collision,” OPP Const. Nitty Biryah told BradfordToday. “They were transported VSA (vital signs absent) and did not make it at the hospital. It's too bad.”
