A 56-year-old man was killed following a head-on crash between a fully loaded gravel truck and a pickup truck on Highway 48 near Beaverton on Monday.
The pickup truck, travelling eastbound "drifted into the path of a west-bound dump truck," said OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt.
The head-on collision resulted in the dump truck rolling over, spilling its load of gravel.
The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Highway 48, between 14 Concession and 17 Sideroad in Brock Township, was closed for several hours while officials investigated the crash.
Schmidt said it doesn't appear weather was a "significant contributing factor," but he said it isn't clear what led to the crash.
