South Simcoe police are still piecing together exactly what led to a serious crash between two vehicles in Bradford’s west end Thursday.
On March 6 at about 1:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a collision involving a black Mercedes and blue Mazda, in the area of County Road 27, north of Line 8. Emergency services assisted the individuals involved, and a 64-year-old Alliston man was transported by Ornge air ambulance to hospital with serious injuries.
“No further details about the investigation or personal injuries are available at this time,” spokesperson Samah Othman said in a media release issued March 10. “The investigation … remains ongoing.”
South Simcoe did take to social media mid Thursday afternoon to note “extremely hazardous” weather with “whiteout visibility (is) making travel incredibly dangerous” in the Bradford and Innisfil area. South Simcoe's post also noted officers had responded to multiple crashes in the vicinity of County Road 27 and Line 9 in Bradford, and closed several roads in the affected area — though it wasn't made clear Monday if weather was a factor in the incident between the Mercedes and Mazda.
Anyone with information related to this investigation, or dash-cam footage from the area of County Road 27, between lines 8 and 9, on Thursday from 1:30 to 1:40 p.m., is asked to contact Const. Wazeer Rahman at [email protected] or 905-775-3311, ext. 2029. They can also leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or crimestopperssdm.com.
