Body discovered near RVH in Barrie deemed not suspicious

Grisly find happened around 10 a.m. near entrance to hospital grounds on Georgian Drive

Barrie police are investigating after a body was discovered near the entrance to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) on Georgian Drive in the city's north end earlier today.

Police said they received the call shortly before 10 a.m. on Dec. 30.

“Nothing appears suspicious, and it looks like we may have cleared the scene about 30 minutes ago,” communications coordinator Jennett Mays said at 1 p.m.
