July 30, 1962 - December 8, 2024.

It is with profound sadness and a great sense of loss that we announce that Leslie passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2024, with her family by her side after a very short illness. Pre-deceased by her parents John and Shirley McDonald and father-in-law Peter Wiseman. Taken from us far too early, Leslie
leaves behind her beloved husband of 39.5 years, Michael; and will be deeply missed by her daughter Jennifer, her son Brad and her daughter Laura. She will
also be sorely missed by her sister Lori Baskin (Dave); brother Steven McDonald (Jill); mother-in-law Joan Wiseman; brothers-in-law Bob Wiseman (Virginia) and David Wiseman (Christiane); sister-in-law Jo-Anne Wiseman; and her many devoted nieces and nephews (Greg, Kelly, Ryan, Leah, Matthew, Carly, Ian,
Juliana, Nicholas, Daniel, Claire and Peter).

Leslie was a very special person and an extraordinary daughter, wife, mother, sister and aunt. Always humble, Leslie didn’t appreciate her own excellence and
was uncomfortable allowing others to acknowledge her special qualities. Her loyalty and compassion allowed her to create a tight-knit, treasured circle of
friends that lasted decades. Leslie was happiest enjoying the simple things in life and spending time with her family of whom she was so deeply proud.

Leslie’s incredible work ethic, integrity, and fierce attention to detail made her a beloved and respected inaugural member of the Customer Services team at the
Town of Newmarket for over 20 years, retiring on May 31, 2023.

Most recently, Leslie’s love and passion became researching, planning and scheduling trips to explore the world. Although, the “world” inevitably often ended
up being Italy. She created so many wonderful trips and memories that our family will always cherish. We are most fortunate that her last trip, just 9 weeks ago to Portugal and Spain, was a memorable vacation with Mike, her sister Lori and brother-in-law Dave.

The family would like to thank the medical teams at the Toronto Western Hospital Neurological Unit; the Ontario Health at Home Team (Central Region), including Monica whose patience and compassion was a godsend for Leslie; the palliative care team and especially Dr. Katie Mulhern for her extraordinary care and kindness.

A deeply private person, in keeping with Leslie’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers
we would kindly ask that you support a charity of your choice or the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket.
