The Bradford Bulldogs U7 teams battled the cold Saturday morning as they took to the ice for the 16th annual Hockey Day in BWG at Bud Brown Park in Bond Head.
Young players faced off in two mini-games on the outdoor rinks, cheered on by enthusiastic parents and siblings from the sidelines.
Meanwhile, inside Bond Head Community Hall, families enjoyed a lively atmosphere filled with games, face painting, entertainment, and gift bags. Guests also gathered for a pancake breakfast, with all proceeds supporting the Bradford Lions Club.
The event wrapped up with a special medal ceremony, where Mayor James Leduc and members of council shared words of encouragement, celebrating the players’ dedication and team spirit.
The event was sponsored by Hill Top Dental Centre and Tim Hortons.
Hockey Day in Canada began in Toronto in 2000. It is hosted in a different Canadian town every year. In 2009, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury created the local event.
