Under-10

On a beautiful evening for baseball, Kumi Canada engaged in a pitching duel with James Campbell Insurance, ultimately losing 8-3. The score was an impossibly low 1-0 after three innings, as Claire, Alexis and Brianna each pitched a gem of an inning. Logan had another great day at the plate and made a fantastic catch on a pop fly to centre field. Great effort!

Bradford Academy of Music beat Vince's Market in a close 15-12 game. Vince’s Market was led by Nick, who had key hits that started or extended rallies. In the field, he made two stops at shortstop in the second and third innings, which kept runners from scoring. The third inning saw him grab a hot shot to short and quickly throw it to Nathan at third to get the lead runner out.

Under-12

Solid effort by Dissette Animal Hospital in a 18-9 loss against Roy Gordon Law. Great base plays by Dissette’s Dillon, Halyn and Shelby; solid pitching by Trinity and Shelby; and terrific catching by Zachary.

Under-20

Bradford Navy played back to back games, losing one and winning the other.

On Wed., July 3, they battled Stouffville Toyota in a tight game resulting in a 10-7 loss. Cameron G. showed power at the plate and Davis B. was unerring behind it. Jaymin M. has been working on his pitching and it's starting to show.

Thurs., July 4, Bradford enjoyed a 14-12 victory over East Gwillimbury Bullseye Axe. Everyone contributed well, with highlights including a couple of great catches by birthday boy Evan M. and Clayton D. unfailingly withstanding a barrage of hard hits in his role as shortstop.

Botas Electrical played very well as a team and everyone contributed to a great 16-1 win over IMBA 4! Jackson B hit two singles and drove in three RBIs. Jordan and Dominic brought in two runs each. Stefano smacked a single in the second to score a run and hit a huge double in the third to score two more runs. Way to go, Team Botas!

The Bradford Rookie Select team hosted a tournament in Bradford from July 5-7, with 10 teams visiting from all over Ontario. Bradford went 3-0 in the round-robin action, even pulling off a 41-14 win! During Sunday’s semi-final game, Bradford played hard but was bumped out by Sudbury, who went on to win gold in the finals against Ancaster. Tournament MVPs were Luca B., Mikey L., Sandro G., and Ty C., but it truly was a team effort all weekend long!

Under-9

Carron Farms beat A&W High Voltage in a 16-7 game. Phenomenal hitting from Carron Farm’s Alex, Ryer and Andrew clearing the bases with home runs and a triple. Harrison, Chase, Hayden, and Jake all had solid singles. Great base running from Dylan, Tyler and Cambryan.

The team defence was led by Jake and Harrison. Hayden, Andrew, Chase, Alex, and Ryer made some solid defence plays. Great game from all!

Ryan’s Landscaping started off a busy week on the diamonds with a 15-10 loss against Carron Farms. Ryan’s Landscaping welcomed back Noah who took on the role of official bat boy, as two broken wrists kept him from playing with the team. It didn’t stop him from cheering the loudest! Jacob and Sebastian were a great match at pitcher and first for two great outs in one inning! For Carron Farm’s in that game there was some excellent hitting by all. Harrison, Chase, Logan, Ryer, Dylan, Jake, Hayden, Alex and Tyler! Logan made three out in the top of the fifth inning to hold them at 10 runs. Great defensive effort by the entire Carron Farm’s team.

Day 2 for Ryan’s Landscaping had some hot bats and amazing defence, and they won 24-8 over IMBA 3. Colby made an out at home as catcher all on his own. Benjamin R. made two important outs with the help of his team! Great win, team!

Day 3 for this week was all about the bats for Ryan’s Landscaping during a 27-6 win over IMBA 2. Tanner went six for six at the plate and made it on base each time! Isaiah had an amazing double!

Ryan’s Landscaping came together the following week for a big win, 21-10 over Lomonte & Collings. Colby had an outstanding all-around game defensively grabbing a couple pop flys for outs and slugging a three-run home run! Jacob’s bat was hot as well with two doubles!

Under-11

It was a beautiful evening for baseball in Bradford, and team Many Hands, Doing Good came off of a serious practice late last week ready to face team Anatolia Tile. Marshall started the game off on the mound for team Many Hands, Doing Good, throwing strikes and keeping the score low in the first two innings. Riley came into pitch in relief at the end of the second inning, also throwing strikes. Offence was provided by Lucas, Ali, Noah, Adam D., and Alex, and William absolutely crushed the longest drive we've seen so far this season, which unfortunately drifted foul. The game all came down to an exciting fourth inning when a series of walks led to the game being tied 13-13 on the final play.

Monday night pitted your Under-11 Bradford Sluggers against Innisfil 1, a team that got the better of the Sluggers last game. Fortunately, your Sluggers lived up to their name, pounding out the runs in a 17-5 victory. Lots of standout performances, but particularly Joel who scored four runs, and Aidan who pitched three full innings of shutout ball.

Under-15

Team Bradford Men’s Slo-Pitch League beat Everett 11-5. Great pitching by Aiden, Owen, Nate and Ryan H. Great defensive plays from Ryan S., Nathan, Christian and Evan.

Team Men’s Slow Pitch League took a second win when they faced Angus in a 11-5 game. Christian C. pitched three strong innings, and Aiden closed the game facing four batters and striking out three. Evan D. added a home run to the score.

Big thanks to our two callups, both from Under-13 teams, Rocky and Logan.
