NEWS RELEASE
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT COLLECTIVE
**********************
The Youth Empowerment Collective, led by founder Francesca Licursi, is thrilled to announce the next exciting chapter of our Youth Empowerment journey!

After the overwhelming success of last year’s inaugural Youth Empowerment Day, we asked local youth what they envisioned for 2025, and their responses were nothing short of incredible.

The range of talents and expressions of empowerment blew us away, which is why we are proud to launch the Youth Empowerment Book—a diverse and inspiring collection of stories, poems, artwork, and more contributed by our youth.

This collection will showcase the themes of empowerment, self-expression, and resilience, highlighting the creativity, strength, and talents of young people in our community. The official launch of the Youth Empowerment Book will take place on May 4, 2025, at the Bradford Library as part of the Second Annual Youth Empowerment Day.

Licursi, founder of the Youth Empowerment Collective, shares, “My hope is that these stories, talents, and voices will inspire other youth who might think they’re too young, too shy, or don’t fit the mould to never give up on their dreams. Let’s empower each other and show the world what we can achieve!”

Call for Submissions Coming Soon: Show Us What Makes You Extraordinary!

As part of the Youth Empowerment Book launch, we are thrilled to announce that a call for submissions will be coming soon! We invite youth from East Gwillimbury and Bradford West Gwillimbury, ages 5-17, to showcase their incredible creations in our upcoming anthology. Whether you’re an artist, performer, athlete, musician, LEGO builder, TikToker, or even a proud pet rock collector—this is your chance to shine! No talent is too big, small, or unconventional; we want to celebrate it all.

We also encourage submissions from groups, schools, and community organizations to highlight collaborative projects. From art pieces and social justice campaigns to volunteer efforts and sports initiatives, we want to showcase the creativity and passion of our young people. Submissions can include stories, artwork, or even QR codes linking to performances, music, or other forms of creative expression.

Stay tuned for more details on how to submit your work and be part of this inspiring collection! For more information on the Youth Empowerment Book please visit our website at www.youthempowermentcollective.ca or contact us directly at [email protected].
