Working up a sweat for a good cause at F45 Gym (9 photos)

The event raised $330 for the cause

F45 Functional Training facility in Bradford hosted a workout fundraiser on Saturday in support of A Bradford Christmas Campaign.

Founders of A Bradford Christmas, Emily & Sarah Dahlgren, worked up a sweat over the weekend during an intense, 45-minute workout session at F45 Training Facility in the Summerlyn Shops plaza.

The Dahlgren sisters collaborated with management at the gym to host a one-time class where participants paid a $20 donation to workout at the gym in support of the girls’ fundraiser.

Members donated cash on top of the $20 fee and jumped into action with a non-stop, fun workout that had everyone dripping in sweat.

“It was tiring,” shares Emily Dahlgren who kept up with most of the class’ movements.

Participants kept active in a timed circuit involving free weights, squats, push-ups, sit-ups, biking on a stationary bike, and rowing.

Accompanied with high-energy dance music, Emily and Sarah joined the others lifting weights and doing sit-ups and squats.

F45’s Studio Manager, Megan Glynn and Trainer Laura Vitale encouraged everyone throughout the entire session while aiding in quick transitions with weights between each workout.

“It’s an amazing workout, an amazing experience, and the core of our foundation is our members and the community,” expresses Chris Lombardi, part owner of F45. “Working with these two [sisters], I think they’re fantastic and I wish I had that level of drive when I was their age. We’re super happy to support such an amazing cause”.

Among the participants were some members of the Bradford Hustlers, including the group’s organizer Laura Banchon and her friend Mariam Qureshi and son Adam.

“We came to check [F45] out and to support these girls!” shares Qureshi.

The total amount raised during the workout fundraiser was $330 cash.

“We are so grateful!” expressed Sarah. “We are still feeling the burn!”

Emily jokes, “this is proof that I actually workout out at least once in my life.”

“We’ve all experienced a rough go in the last year and anything we can do to help better that situation for other people, we will,” states Lombardi. “We’re fortunate to be open, so we’re going to use that platform to help others. Hopefully this is one of many [fundraisers] we’ll do.”
