From fresh farmers’ market finds, to local cornhole championships, to the Bradford Lions Club’s annual car draw, there are plenty of activities to take part in — and win big — in Bradford West Gwillimbury and area.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 7

Holland Marsh Food Market

9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Fresh produce straight from the Holland Marsh, plus baked goods, flowers, Sheldon Creek Dairy milk, Homestead Farms eggs, and Fresh Acre Farms meat.

Food trucks and firewood also available.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 8

Bradford Farmers’ Market

8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Outside BWG Public Library

Every Saturday until Oct. 6.

Enjoy live music, meet local community groups, and find produce from the Holland Marsh and beyond, including plants, flowers, herbs, honey, dairy products, maple syrup, cured meats, free-run eggs, baking, preserves, and a variety of fruits and vegetables, plus handmade arts and crafts.

Find warm, out of the oven baked goodies, jams, jellies, honey, syrups, crafts, plants, local potato chips, meats, fruits and veggies, all from local farmers.

Simcoe County Cornhole Championship

11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Stroud Curling Club, 7883 Yonge St., Innisfil

Cost is $20

Join the Stroud Curling Club for the inaugural Cornhole (bean bag toss) Championships. Participants must be 19 years of age or older. Prizes for the top teams.

Bradford Lions Club’s 65th annual Mammoth Draw for Cash and Cars

6 p.m. doors open

Bradford and District Memorial Community Centre, 125 Simcoe Rd., Bradford.

Includes a beef buffet supper, social gaming night, live entertainment by Legends, and the elimination-style draw.

Second prize is a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro, and grand prize is a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

Tickets are $100 each and admit two people. Must be purchased in advance from any Bradford Lions Club member, or call 905-775-9170.

Wishing Well Animal Sanctuary tours

12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

2710 Line 10, Bradford

$20 per person, or $60 for a family of four. Kids under three are free.

Sanctuary tours run on the second Sunday and last Saturday of each month from March through November. Meet and interact with the Wishing Well family of rescued former farm animals.

Tours run about two to 2 ½ hours long. Closed toe footwear is recommended. Parking is available immediately to the right of the sanctuary entrance. Please leave pets at home.

Vegetarian burgers will be served after the tour for $5 each.
