Kempenfest, one of the largest juried outdoor Arts and Crafts shows returns to Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie, Aug. 2-5 on the Civic Holiday long weekend. Over 400 vendors are expected this year, along with the YMCA Children’s Village, Robertson Amusements, and live music on various stages – including headliners Jordan John on Friday, Loverboy on Sat., Jess Moskaluke on Sun., and The Martels on Mon. Georgian Bay Steam Show

Admission is $8 on Friday and Monday, $12 on Saturday and Sunday, free for accompanied children under 12.

Georgian Bay Steam Show includes antique and vintage farm equipment and cars, steam engines, farm equipment demonstrations, live music, horse-drawn wagon rides, flea market, kids’ activities, tractor pulls – and on Sunday at 6 p.m., an OTTPA-sanctioned modified truck and tractor pull. Pancake Breakfast every morning, evening activities include a movie night on Friday, square-dancing on Saturday, and Talent Shows, Sat. and Sun. nights.  Aug. 2-5 at the Steam Show Grounds, 4635 Victoria St. W. in Cookstown; gates open 7:30 a.m. each morning.

BWG Public Library, 425 Holland St. W., Bradford

Enjoy live music, meet local community groups, and find produce from the Holland Marsh and beyond, including plants, flowers and herbs, honey, dairy products, maple syrup, cured meats, free-run eggs, baking, preserves, as well as a wide variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, and handmade arts and crafts.

Harbourfest - VIva l'Italia

Friday Harbour Resort is celebrating all things Italian this Civic Holiday Weekend, Aug. 3 to 5, with a special weekend-long festival: Harbourfest – Viva l’Italia.

Supercars like Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo as well as Ducati motorcycles will be featured as part of a luxury car show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday. In addition, a variety of family-friendly activities will take place throughout the weekend, including a mini circuit race track, build-a-buddy, face painting, and a K’Nex car building challenge. On Saturday at 9:30 p.m. a spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky over the marina. This event is free to attend and open to all.
